About wrought iron and blacksmith shop:

The reason wrought iron was phased out is simple - the process is very labor intensive and costly. In the old days, a laborer had to hold the metal with tongs and "work" it under a steam hammer.

BUT NOT in our case. With a family tradition since 1728, Blacksmith Grasic –Slovenia, Europe still care about high quality hand hammered real wrought iron products.

Every piece we make is conceived with your unique taste in mind. To achieve this goal we rely on an old fashioned and time tested traditional way of making every piece by hand.

We take pride in using traditional methods of blacksmithing to produce hand forged ironwork that replicates the craft of a bye-gone era, a time when “hand-made” was the only way.

The look and feel of true hand forged ironwork is different than mass-produced, painted or powdercoated cast iron and fabricated steel.

Be aware that it's hard to find hand forged products that are still made in the old fashion way that brings real value and quality.

Hand forged products are piece of art and not just another product with no soul. Not even two are the same since the blacksmith can't hit with the hammered twice the same.

Currently, the only way to get true wrought iron is to import it from Europe. The scarcity of the metal is unfortunate for the ornamental iron industry because wrought iron is an ideal metal to work with. The metal is corrosion resistant, handles stress well, and can accept a thicker finish.
